stop looking at shapes and learn elliott wave principals :). The prices are always in triangles or channels or whatever other shapes people want to create though triangles and pennants or channels to me are easier than cup and handle becuase you might think something is in cup and handle and that doesn't work as well in the bear market vs bullish trends. Of course you'll have resistance and consolidation patterns, of course what goes up must come down and Elliott waves repeat patterns with wave 2 and 4 alternating plus you have extensions, and on top of that Fibonacci levels and rules.BUT if you only focus on shapes, unless you're going very long, it's hard to swing trade because most likely you will buy too late or sell too early. Counting waves or finding good reliable analysts on youtube at least that have a great credibility can keep you cool headed zooming in and out of a pattern (saying this for everyone who is reading my comment not just to the author).
Patterns get broken on purpose and forks get created to increase risk and volatility but learning to at least roughly count the waves will help you plan ahead. And remember all, we see what we want to see or trained our brain to see :)
