This is a summary of most of the issues you need to know about the KS as an independent line. If you have a problem understanding any of these points then please ask me to clarify before we move to the next level. Also, please take sometime to read the original slides
Point 10 is a great summary of the "story" you told me in our PM chat. Very well done.
8d, "the KS is the 50% fib of most presently relevant candles" - this was a flash of light. So so obvious.

Thank you
I think point 9 has great value as well since it removes the idea of the system's independence from price and the idea of a generic way to get signals (i.e. if price breaks the kumo buy / sell etc)

Alas, Im struggling to see the light on that - would you mind sharing your interpretation of it. What's exciting and challenging about ichimoku trading is the multiple levels it works at, but can't quite work this bit out so far. Thanks.

do you mean point 9?

No, am learning that the reply feature doesn't put replies where you think it will! I was referring to the point about the KS being the 50% fib of the most presently relevant candles. I don't see how this works or is the case. As the KS is effectively a moving average of the median of the last 26 candles from the current one how does this also equate to the 50% fib? And the 50% fib relative to what? what is the low or high that it relates to. Sorry if this is a dumb question - just keen to learn and understand. many thanks.MC

KS is a median not a moving average
A median is calculated by taking the midpoint between the highest and lowest numbers (highs and lows)
So that mid point is the 50% fib
So on an h1 chart for example, if you do a fib study and compare it with the static KS position, you will find that they are the same
