TJ-US-ORB Indicator

Inspired by TraderJ's US ORB trading strategy and just fixes the bugs and missing midline in other ORB indicators out there... Enjoy..!

The TJ-US-ORB indicator draws horizontal lines based on two key U.S. market 15-minute candles:

US PreMarket (default 08:00–08:15 ET) – blue lines.

US MarketOpen (default 09:30–09:45 ET) – yellow lines.

For each session, the indicator draws:

High line – top of the candle

Low line – bottom of the candle

Midline – average of high and low, configurable style and opacity

Lines start at the session candle and extend until 16:00 ET, ensuring no overlap between sessions or days.

The indicator works on all chart timeframes from 1-minute to 2-hour.

2️⃣ Settings Tab

All configurable settings are grouped into Professional Settings for clarity.

US PreMarket

Candle Start Time (ET): Time selector for the 15-minute PreMarket candle (default 08:00–08:15).

Line Color: Color for high/low lines (default blue).

Line Width: Thickness of the lines (default 1).

US MarketOpen

Candle Start Time (ET): Time selector for the 15-minute MarketOpen candle (default 09:30–09:45).

Line Color: Color for high/low lines (default yellow).

Line Width: Thickness of the lines (default 1).

Midline Settings

Midline Opacity (%): Transparency of the midline (0–100). Default is 50%, making it less prominent than the main lines.

Midline Width: Thickness of the midline (default 1).

Midline Style: Choose solid, dashed, or dotted (default dashed).

3️⃣ How It Works

The indicator detects PreMarket and MarketOpen 15-minute candles for the current day (Monday–Friday).

High, low, and midline values of the session candle are stored.

Horizontal lines are drawn from the start of the session candle and extend to 16:00 ET.

On the next trading day, the same process repeats, so each day has distinct lines.

Lines automatically disappear at 16:00 ET to avoid overlap.

4️⃣ Notes & Tips

The indicator uses request.security to fetch the 15-minute session candle, ensuring correct line placement even on lower or higher timeframes.

It is designed for U.S. market hours, but time inputs can be adjusted manually for other sessions.

The midline opacity is customizable, so you can make it subtle or prominent depending on your chart style.

Maximum number of lines is set to 500; on very active charts, older lines are automatically removed.

5️⃣ Recommended Usage

Apply TJ-US-ORB on any timeframe, preferably 1m–2h, to see accurate session lines.

Combine with other indicators (e.g., volume, moving averages) to confirm potential breakout or retracement zones.

Use line colors to quickly distinguish PreMarket vs MarketOpen levels.

The midline is ideal for observing session mean price, useful for intraday bias.

TJ-US-ORB v1.3 - User Guide

Inspired by TraderJ's US ORB trading strategy and just fixes the bugs and missing midline in other ORB indicators out there... Indicator allows to choose a Market - user request.

This indicator marks two important 15-minute candles around a selected market open (and PreMarket Hours) and extends their levels across the chart to help identify key intraday support and resistance zones for ORB trading.

What the Indicator Does
The indicator draws three horizontal levels from two specific candles:
MarketOpen Candle
PreMarket Candle (90 minutes before MarketOpen)

For each candle it plots:
High
Low
Midline (average of high and low)

These levels extend across the chart and help traders quickly visualize opening range levels for different global markets.

Supported Markets
You can select the market session from a dropdown:

The selected market determines the MarketOpen candle, and the PreMarket candle is automatically set 90 minutes earlier.

Line Behavior
When a session candle prints:
The lines are drawn from the candle's high, low, and midpoint.

Lines initially extend 10 candles to the right.

After the 11th candle, the lines extend one candle at a time as new bars appear.

All lines stop extending at 16:00 ET.

Works on 1m to 1h timeframe- best to use on 15m and lower.

Notes
Indicator works Monday–Friday only - Market Working Days
Levels are based on 15-minute candles, even if you view lower timeframes.
The tool adapts automatically when switching markets in the settings.
