Swing Percentile Lines [QuantVue]The Swing High/Low Percentile Indicator is designed to help traders identify key price levels based on the most recent swing high and low. By anchoring to the most recent swing high and swing low, the indicator automatically generates percentile lines ( 25%, 50%, 75%) that act as dynamic support and resistance levels.
What Does the Indicator Do?
The Swing High/Low Percentile Indicator works by identifying the most recent significant price swings, whether it's a swing high or swing low. It then calculates the range between these points and divides the distance into percentage-based levels. These levels are plotted on the chart as clear, easy-to-read lines at 25%, 50%, and 75% of the range between the swing high and low.
These percentile lines serve as dynamic price zones where traders can anticipate potential reactions, whether the market is trending or consolidating.
How Can Traders Use the Indicator?
Support and Resistance: The percentile lines act as evolving support and resistance zones. Traders can anticipate price bounces or breaks at these levels, providing opportunities for trend-following or reversal trades.
Trend Identification: The indicator helps traders determine the strength of a trend. In a strong uptrend, price will likely stay above the 50% or 75% lines, while in a downtrend, it may remain below the 50% or 25% lines. This gives traders an edge in recognizing the overall market direction.
Entry and Exit Points: Traders can use the percentile lines to time their entries and exits. For example, entering a trade on a pullback to the 25% or 50% line offers a favorable risk-to-reward ratio. Similarly, the percentile lines serve as natural profit targets, allowing traders to plan exits as the price approaches the 50% or 75% levels.
Risk Management: The clear delineation of price levels makes it easy for traders to set stop-loss orders. For example, if price falls below the 25% line in an uptrend, it may signal weakness, prompting an exit or reduced position size.
Breakout and Breakdown Scenarios: When price breaks above a recent swing high or below a swing low, the percentile lines provide traders with pullback entry opportunities or key levels to watch for continuation of the move.

Filter-Out Weak Pivot highs/lows, Swing highs/lows: MethodJust a simple indicator for refining the standard method of finding Pivot highs & Lows; Allowing user to filter-out weak/flat/rounded Pivot highs/lows
-Aim of this is to get pivot highs & pivot lows coded to print more in line with what the eye would naturally be drawn to as an obvious pivot high/low.
-This uses local moving average around the pivot high/low together with user-input ATR multiple, to create a condition for filtering out lacklustre pivot highs/lows.
-Thought i'd publish this separately as a tool that other coders might find useful.
//inputs//
~adjust looback/lookforward for Pivot highs/lows
~adjust 'spikiness' index to filter out less impressive pivot highs/lows (higher number = more selective)
mentfx StructureThe indicator is designed to identify and track swing highs and lows in a given market on any timeframe, and display them on the chart as solid lines (the lines you see are denoting highs and lows). The lines are customizable in terms of color and width, as determined by the user input.
The rules for creating a new high or low are based on whether the current range is considered Bullish (most recent break being to the topside) or whether the current range is considered Bearish (most recent breaking being to the downside). If the range is Bullish, the code will allow for wicks below the low without updating the low, and will only change in the case that a candle's body (open or close) finds itself under that given low. If the range is Bearish, the code will allow for wicks above the high without updating the high, and will only change in the case that a candle's body (open or close) finds itself above that given high.
When a range is assigned as being bullish, it will continue updating the high until a swing high is created (denoting that as the high of the range) and will not update or change until a candle's body, open's or close's above it - which will reupdate the high and update the low. The low will be updated based on the last time price had a candle (open or closure) below a previous candles low, and then will find the lowest low after the rule was met to assign a low (the idea here is to locate the last major "sell before buy" and showcase that range. And this will occur vice versa, where: when a range is assigned as bearish, it will continue updating the low until a swing low is created (denoting that as the low of the range) and will not update or change until a candle's body, open's or close's below it - which will reupdate the low and update the high. The high will be updated based on the last time price had a candle (open or closure) above a previous candles high, and then will find the highest high after the rule was met to assign a high (once again, the idea being to locate the last major "buy before sell" and showcase price as existing in that range.
A swing high is considered as a high that has a lower high to its left and to its right. And a swing low is considered as a low that has a higher low to its left and to its right. These swings are used to determine the final high or low of a Bullish or Bearish range (respectively).
Additionally, the script includes a function that updates the lines on the chart as new market data prints (using the logic described above).
The indicator uses a specific method (mentioned above) based on the idea of "sells before buys" (for Bullish Ranges) and "buys before sells" (for Bearish Ranges) that isnt found in other indicator. The channels shown on the screen represent prior highs and lows, as well as current updated highs and lows based on this. The reason for using this way to track Structure is that we are assuming large money is selling before purchasing heavily, and buying before selling heavily, and these ranges attempt to showcase the structural delivery of price on any timeframe in reference to this theory - theory being that if we are in a bullish range, we are likely to sustain some sort of bullish move until the next high or for a while, or from the last "sell before buy" - and vice versa. As well as being able to merge the "context" or "story" of multiple timeframes in reference to this indicator as confluence for bullish or bearish continuations. Follow's the school of thought that comes with trend following.
Price & Time SquaredHi Traders..
This is one of Gann's trading method, called Price & Time Squared. When price & time meets, price will reverse."
as you see, those lines (past & future) represent the forecast of 'potential' swing (swing high/low or turning up/ down)
here are some examples:
Weekly
Daily
H1
M30
M15
M5
How to trade (very simple):
- if the trend is down and tomorrow there is a 'Price & Time Squared Line', we can prepare to take long position (combine with your favorite price action)
- if the trend is up and tomorrow there is a 'Price & Time Squared Line', we can prepare to take short position (combine with your favorite price action)
- stop loss if the chart makes Lower Low (for Long Position)
- stop loss if the chart makes Higher High (for Short Position)
you can use those lines as guidance in your trading (just like Traffic Light)
PS:
-if you see 2 or 3 lines close together, or 2 or 3 lines stack in 1 line (cluster), it means the Time Factor is 'Strong'
the stronger the cluster the stronger the Time Factor
- due to time delay & time lag, the turning can be +/- 1 bar
- PM for trial access
“Time is the most important factor of all and not until sufficient time has expired does any big move start up or down. The time factor will overbalance both space and volume. When time is up, space movement will start and large volume will begin, either up or down.
Swing PointsEnglish:
The indicator shows the fractals where stop-losses may be located and can be used to trade from their taking.
You can adjust the length of the fractal (the number of bars with which it is surrounded on both sides, to confirm the validity).
You can also display lines from fractal points for clarity.
To keep the chart clean, you can enable deletion of already taken fractals.
Example of use with deleted fractals and without lines:
Русский:
Индикатор показывает фракталы где могут находиться стоп-лоссы и его можно использовать для торговли от их снятия.
Можно настраивать длину фрактала (количество баров, которыми он окружен с обеих сторон, для подтверждения валидности).
Так же можно выводить линии от фрактальных точек для наглядности.
Для сохранения чистоты графика можно включить удаление уже снятых фракталов.
Пример использования с удалением снятых фракталов и без линий:
Titans Trend LinesThis indicator will plot trend lines based on recent pivot highs and lows.
The pivot sensitivity level may be customised under the indicator settings. The pivot highs and lows are identified by 'H' and 'L' markers.
Through the indicator, a purple dotted line connects the last two pivot highs and another purple dotted line connects the last two pivot lows. These lines are extended to the left and right beyond the connected points.
If a new trend line has developed due to the formation of a new pivot high or low, the last trend line will be grayed to help with referencing.
The user is advised to use this indicator at his own risk.
'last red low / last green high' exitThis is a good alternative to pivot points and ma lines to find long and short exit points (stop loss prices) for a trade.
When you hear traders say "set the stop loss to the recent swing", this indicator seems to do a reasonable job of finding those.
This script marks
the low of the most recent red candle
the high of the most recent green candle
in order to help identify a reasonable stop loss exit point for long and short trades.
You can also specify a distance threshold to the stop loss point.
How to use it.
Decide how far from the current price the exit should be (default 1.5%)
Use your chosen trading strategy to identify a long or short entry position
Add a long/short drawing to the close of the trade candle
Set the stop loos of your drawing to the exit line of this indicator
Set the take profit of your drawing using the desired risk to reward ratio
Note: A good rule is that if this indicator does not show a valid exit line, do not enter the trade.
Note: If the change of a new "last Green High" or the "last Red Low" is below 0.5%, the indicator will keep the previous values
Swing High Swing Low This tool is the swing high swing low indicator. A swing high/low is a technical pattern that describes a local peak or trough on a chart. By connecting these peaks and troughs, we can determine the general direction the asset is trading. This indicator can be used on all time frames and in any market.
To use it, declare how many candles are needed to determine a swing level. By default, the indicator is set to two candles. This means that a candle must have two candles to the right AND left (totaling 5 consecutive candles) to be considered a swing level. If the middle candle has the highest high of the 5 consecutive candles, it will be classified as a Swing High. If the middle candle has the lowest low, it will be a Swing Low. Otherwise, it will be ignored.
Once a swing number is declared, the indicator will look for a starting swing high and swing low. The asset will trade inside the range established by the swing high/low lines. When the lines are parallel, it is considered a form of consolidation. You will likely see a lot of whipsaw action or chart patterns like bullflags or head-shoulders. Wait patiently for a break of this consolidation. The indicator will identify the new swing levels when the asset breaks out of this range.
Depending on the direction of the break, it will turn green for an uptrend or red for a downtrend. You should look to take long positions when the lines are green and short when the lines are red. You can use old swing levels as support or resistance in the future. The longer the line, the greater the likelihood that it will be support or resistance. This can help you identify potential entries.
The goal of this script is to make it easier to determine trends. Sometimes, we take the wrong trade because we don't understand which way the market is trending and what levels are important. This indicator is meant to take the guesswork out and make the trade easy and emotionless. This indicator works well on its own, but I suggest pairing it with another to add an extra confirmation before taking a trade. Happy Trading!
**Please note: Assets that have traded parabolically (steep inclines or declines) will have wide ranges that may not be broken. (see GME 2021)**
TTT_Swing_and_Orderblock_Ver_1.0.2Hello, dear traders from all over the world! This is Tommy from Tommy Trading Team.
Many inquires were delivered to us from traders recently wishing to use one of our cutting-edge technologies that was developed days ago and was only used by us. We have edited and supplemented this indicator both logically and visually. Accordingly, our team is officially launching with a new brought up name, which is “SOB(Version1.0.2), shorten for “Swing & OB(Orderblock).”
This technical indicator is quite straightforward and effective to utilize since it shows traders the essential variables that are considered by many recently developed theories and state-of-the-art methodologies. And they are ‘Dow’ and ‘Orderblock’.
Swing High and Low (Dow Theory) has been applied fundamentally by many other theories and methodologies such as Elliott wave theory and SR Flip techniques. A swing can be interpreted as a wave with a trend composed of a high and a low each. After succeeding on making significant highs/lows, in any existing wave theories, it is essential to monitor and spot when the next waves make HH(Higher high), LH(Lower high), HL(Higher low), or LL(Lower low).
OB(Orderblock) technique is a very advanced methodology that captures the contraction, consolidation, and attraction zone. This so called ‘zone’ is interpreted differently by various stakeholders, such as institutional(whales) average entry/exit price range or peak price range with higher traded volumes. In TA perspective, it’s just a major support/resistance to consider and when this zone fails to support/resist, the price momentum tends to boost up towards the direction it failed. To give you a little tip, look for the spots usually forming horizontal parallel channel, before a big wave with a clear trend (whether up or down) appears. There are numerous ways to identify OB and we have concluded that signaling the double engulfing candles is one of the highly effective one.
As just mentioned, comprehending a trend utilizing ‘Swing HL’ is fundamental and yet definite TA concept and strategy. Furthermore, OB can also be useful to spot major support and resistance area. SOB automatically identify and captures major Highs, Lows, and OBs. In addition, SOB can let traders know when the highs and lows are being replaced by higher/lower highs/lows by changing pivots color. If you are familiar with SR(Support and Resistance) Flip concept, this can be a helpful tool for you since it can signal when highs/lows are being broken above/below and by planning a retest entry trading setup.
If you would like to try SOB_ver1.0.2, please let us know through comments, DM, or Telegram in English/Korean. I assure you that our SOB won’t disappoint you on your trading chart.
Thank you.
Swing Highs/Lows & Candle Patterns [LuxAlgo]This script labels swing highs and swing lows as well as the candle pattern that occurred at that precise point. The script can detect the following 6 candle patterns: hammer, inverse hammer, bullish engulfing, hanging man, shooting star, and bearish engulfing.
This indicator by its very nature backpaints by default, meaning that the displayed components are offset in the past.
🔶 USAGE
It can be interesting to see if a top or bottom is associated with a specific candle pattern, this allows us to study the potential of such a pattern to indicate a reversal. You can hover on a label with a specific pattern to see more details about it.
The notations HH, HL, LH, and LL you can see on the labels are defined as follows:
HH : Higher high
HL : Higher low
LH : Lower high
LL : Lower low
🔶 SETTING
Length: Sensitivity of the swing high/low detection, with lower values returning the maximum/minimum of shorter-term price variations.
Magic CPRThis is not a simple CPR, this includes much more than a simple CPR. Typically a price action based trader use some other support and resistance combined with CPR and I am trying to combine all of them in one single indicator.
In the case of CPR this indicator supports only daily CPR but shows Weakly and Monthly pivot if you want on chart. Other than CPR, this indicator support,
1. Daily time frame Swing Low and High : Implemented, You have to set the number of days you have to consider calculating Swing high and Swing Low. yes this is not 100% automated but really useful.
2. Yesterday High
3. Yesterday Low
4. Today Open : Today Open and Yesterday Low / High will help you to see the gap.
5. Virgin CPR : Yes, I did not see any other indicator which shows Virgin CPR on your chart. This will draw virgin CPR if any virgin CPR exists in the last 6 days. I think people consider only last few days virgin CPR only .
Why This indicator
1. It is difficult for the trader to draw all the above drawings every day
2. Even if you want to use indicators to draw these, it is extremely difficult to configure and manage it in multiple indicators.
3. If you are using a free account you are limited with the number of indicators on the chart as well.
4. Most important, there is no other indicator draw virgin CPR for you
5. Typically people do not want the CPR and pivot data for older days, I provide an option to hide all older pivot data from chart
5. Even though Pivot can be calculated for the entire day, most of the pivots show pivot data till current time. In this indicator, the pivot data will be plotted to you for the entire day at 9:15 AM.
What I am expecting from you
1. Please let me know the feedback
2. Let me know if you are looking for any improvements
3. let me know if you find any bugs
Tom Dante's Swing Failure PatternTom Dante's swing failure pattern regarding swings.
Explanation:
Swing high, price goes above swing high but closes below swing high = Bearish swing failure pattern (red)
Swing low, price goes below swing low but closes above swing low = Bullish swing failure pattern (green)
Might be good in combination with other indicators.
New Improved Support Resistance / Pivot Points (NO REPAINT)This indicator plots local pivot points / support resistance levels in real time (No Repaint). I created this indicator based on my own research and testing (i.e. it is not just a a Pinescript adaptation of some other indicator available online).
The Problem with Similar Indicators Which Are Currently Available On TradingView:
Inaccurate placement of swing/pivot/SR points (making your screen cluttered with meaningless levels).
Repainting (meaning the historical values change as new data becomes available; this is misleading and not very useful when trading in real time).
Have a long delay before confirming/plotting the new pivot points (20/20 hindsight...).
Require you to specify a lookback period and simply looks for the highest or lowest value over that time frame (which isn't very useful since it disregards all of the swings in between).
Do not show all of the historical swing levels, only the most recent ones.
My Solution:
Accurately places swing/pivot/SR points on local highs and lows once a short term trend is over (allowing you to easily identify reversal points).
Does not repaint (the historic values shown are exactly what would have been seen upon the close of the given candles in live trading; this means you can use this indicator for live trading).
Has minimal lag. New swing lows/highs are typically identified by this indicator on the candle which immediately following the swing point (this allows for better entries/exits rather than waiting for the price to run too far in the wrong direction before confirmation).
No lookback period required. The indicator will automatically identify new swings regardless how long the run lasts.
Allows you to adjust for more/less sensitivity.
P.S.: Future developments will be using these levels to create an automatic plot of fibonacci retracement levels.
Kawabunga Swing Failure Points Candles (SFP) by RRBKawabunga Swing Failure Points Candles (SFP) by RagingRocketBull 2019
Version 1.0
This indicator shows Swing Failure Points (SFP) and Swing Confirmation Points (SCP) as candles on a chart.
SFP/SCP candles are used by traders as signals for trend confirmation/possible reversal.
The signal is stronger on a higher volume/larger candle size.
A Swing Failure Point (SFP) candle is used to spot a reversal:
- up trend SFP is a failure to close above prev high after making a new higher high => implies reversal down
- down trend SFP is a failure to close below prev low after making a new lower low => implies reversal up
A Swing Confirmation Point (SCP) candle is just the opposite and is used to confirm the current trend:
- up trend SCP is a successful close above prev high after making a new higher high => confirms the trend and implies continuation up
- down trend SCP is a successful close below prev low after making a new lower low => confirms the trend and implies continuation down
Features:
- uses fractal pivots with optional filter
- show/hide SFP/SCP candles, pivots, zigzag, last min/max pivot bands
- dim lag zones/hide false signals introduced by lagging fractals or
- use unconfirmed pivots to eliminate fractal lag/false signals. 2 modes: fractals 1,1 and highest/lowest
- filter only SFP/SCP candles confirmed with volume/candle size
- SFP/SCP candles color highlighting, dim non-important bars
Usage:
- adjust fractal settings to get pivots that best match your data (lower values => more frequent pivots. 0,0 - each candle is a pivot)
- use one of the unconfirmed pivot modes to eliminate false signals or just ignore all signals in the gray lag zones
- optionally filter only SFP/SCP candles with large volume/candle size (volume % change relative to prev bar, abs candle body size value)
- up/down trend SCP (lime/fuchsia) => continuation up/down; up/down trend SFP (orange/aqua) => possible reversal down/up. lime/aqua => up; fuchsia/orange => down.
- when in doubt use show/hide pivots/unconfirmed pivots, min/max pivot bands to see which prev pivot and min/max value were used in comparisons to generate a signal on the following candle.
- disable offset to check on which bar the signal was generated
Notes:
Fractal Pivots:
- SFP/SCP candles depend on fractal pivots, you will get different signals with different pivot settings. Usually 4,4 or 2,2 settings are used to produce fractal pivots, but you can try custom values that fit your data best.
- fractal pivots are a mixed series of highs and lows in no particular order. Pivots must be filtered to produce a proper zigzag where ideally a high is followed by a low and another high in orderly fashion.
Fractal Lag/False Signals:
- only past fractal pivots can be processed on the current bar introducing a lag, therefore, pivots and min/max pivot bands are shown with offset=-rightBars to match their target bars. For unconfirmed pivots an offset=-1 is used with a lag of just 1 bar.
- new pivot is not a confirmed fractal and "does not exist yet" while the distance between it and the current bar is < rightBars => prev old fractal pivot in the same dir is used for comparisons => gives a false signal for that dir
- to show false signals enable lag zones. SFP/SCP candles in lag zones are false. New pivots will be eventually confirmed, but meanwhile you get a false signal because prev pivot in the same dir was used instead.
- to solve this problem you can either temporary hide false signals or completely eliminate them by using unconfirmed pivots of a smaller degree/lag.
- hiding false signals only works for history and should be used only temporary (left disabled). In realtime/replay mode it disables all signals altogether due to TradingView's bug (barcolor doesn't support negative offsets)
Unconfirmed Pivots:
- you have 2 methods to check for unconfirmed pivots: highest/lowest(rightBars) or fractals(1,1) with a min possible step. The first is essentially fractals(0,0) where each candle is a pivot. Both produce more frequent pivots (weaker signals).
- an unconfirmed pivot is used in comparisons to generate a valid signal only when it is a higher high (> max high) or a lower low (< min low) in the dir of a trend. Confirmed pivots of a higher degree are not affected. Zigzag is not affected.
- you can also manually disable the offset to check on which bar the pivot was confirmed. If the pivot just before an SCP/SFP suddenly jumps ahead of it - prev pivot was used, generating a false signal.
- last max high/min low bands can be used to check which value was used in candle comparison to generate a signal: min(pivot min_low, upivot min_low) and max(pivot max_high, upivot max_high) are used
- in the unconfirmed pivots mode the max high/min low pivot bands partially break because you can't have a variable offset to match the random pos of an unconfirmed pivot (anywhere in 0..rightBars from the current bar) to its target bar.
- in the unconfirmed pivots mode h (green) and l (red) pivots become H and L, and h (lime) and l (fuchsia) are used to show unconfirmed pivots of a smaller degree. Some of them will be confirmed later as H and L pivots of a higher degree.
Pivot Filter:
- pivot filter is used to produce a better looking zigzag. Essentially it keeps only higher highs/lower lows in the trend direction until it changes, skipping:
- after a new high: all subsequent lower highs until a new low
- after a new low: all subsequent higher lows until a new high
- you can't filter out all prev highs/lows to keep just the last min/max pivots of the current swing because they were already confirmed as pivots and you can't delete/change history
- alternatively you could just pick the first high following a low and the first low following a high in a sequence and ignore the rest of the pivots in the same dir, producing a crude looking zigzag where obvious max high/min lows are ignored.
- pivot filter affects SCP/SFP signals because it skips some pivots
- pivot filter is not applied to/not affected by the unconfirmed pivots
- zigzag is affected by pivot filter, but not by the unconfirmed pivots. You can't have both high/low on the same bar in a zigzag. High has priority over Low.
- keep same bar pivots option lets you choose which pivots to keep when there are both high/low pivots on the same bar (both kept by default)
SCP/SFP Filters:
- you can confirm/filter only SCP/SFP signals with volume % change/candle size larger than delta. Higher volume/larger candle means stronger signal.
- technically SCP/SFP is always the first matching candle, but it can be invalidated by the following signal in the opposite dir which in turn can be negated by the next signal.
- show first matching SCP/SFP = true - shows only the first signal candle (and any invalidations that follow) and hides further duplicate signals in the same dir, does not highlight the trend.
- show first matching SCP/SFP = false - produces a sequence of candles with duplicate signals, highlights the whole trend until its dir changes (new pivot).
Good Luck! Feel free to learn from/reuse the code to build your own indicators!
Fork Handles by @treypeng
Candle based indicator that shows swing highs and lows (pivots).
It draws an up or down arrow for simple three candle 'single' swings.
For stronger five candle 'double' swings, it colours the candle. Good for highlighting stronger reversals.
Both of these stylings can be toggled on/off individually.
Default colours
Swing HIGH on an UP candle: bright green
Swing HIGH on an DOWN candle: bright red
Swing LOW on an UP candle: blue
Swing LOW on an DOWN candle: brown
Double swings are grey or white.
Regular candles are just kept to your own default colours as specified in the chart settings.
👏 for anyone who gets the 'fork handles' joke reference.
