Market Structure & Liquidity: CHoCHs+Nested Pivots+FVGs+Sweeps//Purpose:
This indicator combines several tools to help traders track and interpret price action/market structure; It can be divided into 4 parts;
1. CHoCHs, 2. Nested Pivot highs & lows, 3. Grade sweeps, 4. FVGs.
This gives the trader a toolkit for determining market structure and shifts in market structure to help determine a bull or bear bias, whether it be short-term, med-term or long-term.
This indicator also helps traders in determining liquidity targets: wether they be voids/gaps (FVGS) or old highs/lows+ typical sweep distances.
Finally, the incorporation of HTF CHoCH levels printing on your LTF chart helps keep the bigger picture in mind and tells traders at a glance if they're above of below Custom HTF CHoCH up or CHoCH down (these HTF CHoCHs can be anything from Hourly up to Monthly).
//Nomenclature:
CHoCH = Change of Character
STH/STL = short-term high or low
MTH/MTL = medium-term high or low
LTH/LTL = long-term high or low
FVG = Fair value gap
CE = consequent encroachement (the midline of a FVG)
~~~ The Four components of this indicator ~~~
1. CHoCHs:
•Best demonstrated in the below charts. This was a method taught to me by @Icecold_crypto. Once a 3 bar fractal pivot gets broken, we count backwards the consecutive higher lows or lower highs, then identify the CHoCH as the opposite end of the candle which ended the consecutive backwards count. This CHoCH (UP or DOWN) then becomes a level to watch, if price passes through it in earnest a trader would consider shifting their bias as market structure is deemed to have shifted.
•HTF CHoCHs: Option to print Higher time frame chochs (default on) of user input HTF. This prints only the last UP choch and only the last DOWN choch from the input HTF. Solid line by default so as to distinguish from local/chart-time CHoCHs. Can be any Higher timeframe you like.
•Show on table: toggle on show table(above/below) option to show in table cells (top right): is price above the latest HTF UP choch, or is price below HTF DOWN choch (or is it sat between the two, in a state of 'uncertainty').
•Most recent CHoCHs which have not been met by price will extend 10 bars into the future.
• USER INPUTS: overall setting: SHOW CHOCHS | Set bars lookback number to limit historical Chochs. Set Live CHoCHs number to control the number of active recent chochs unmet by price. Toggle shrink chochs once hit to declutter chart and minimize old chochs to their origin bars. Set Multi-timeframe color override : to make Color choices auto-set to your preference color for each of 1m, 5m, 15m, H, 4H, D, W, M (where up and down are same color, but 'up' icon for up chochs and down icon for down chochs remain printing as normal)
2. Nested Pivot Highs & Lows; aka 'Pivot Highs & Lows (ST/MT/LT)'
•Based on a seperate, longer lookback/lookforward pivot calculation. Identifies Pivot highs and lows with a 'spikeyness' filter (filtering out weak/rounded/unimpressive Pivot highs/lows)
•by 'nested' I mean that the pivot highs are graded based on whether a pivot high sits between two lower pivot highs or vice versa.
--for example: STH = normal pivot. MTH is pivot high with a lower STH on either side. LTH is a pivot high with a lower MTH on either side. Same applies to pivot lows (STL/MTL/LTL)
•This is a useful way to measure the significance of a high or low. Both in terms of how much it might be typically swept by (see later) and what it would imply for HTF bias were we to break through it in earnest (more than just a sweep).
• USER INPUTS: overall setting: show pivot highs & lows | Bars lookback (historical pivots to show) | Pivots: lookback/lookforward length (determines the scale of your pivot highs/lows) | toggle on/off Apply 'Spikeyness' filter (filters out smooth/unimpressive pivot highs/lows). Set Spikeyness index (determines the strength of this filter if turned on) | Individually toggle on each of STH, MTH, LTH, STL, MTL, LTL along with their label text type , and size . Toggle on/off line for each of these Pivot highs/lows. | Set label spacer (atr multiples above / below) | set line style and line width
3. Grade Sweeps:
•These are directly related to the nested pivots described above. Most assets will have a typical sweep distance. I've added some of my expected sweeps for various assets in the indicator tooltips.
--i.e. Eur/Usd 10-20-30 pips is a typical 'grade' sweep. S&P HKEX:5 - HKEX:10 is a typical grade sweep.
•Each of the ST/MT/LT pivot highs and lows have optional user defined grade sweep boxes which paint above until filled (or user option for historical filled boxes to remain).
•Numbers entered into sweep input boxes are auto converted into appropriate units (i.e. pips for FX, $ or 'handles' for indices, $ for Crypto. Very low $ units can be input for low unit value crypto altcoins.
• USER INPUTS: overall setting: Show sweep boxes | individually select colors of each of STH, MTH, LTH, STL, MTL, LTL sweep boxes. | Set Grade sweep ($/pips) number for each of ST, MT, LT. This auto converts between pips and $ (i.e. FX vs Indices/Crypto). Can be a float as small or large as you like ($0.000001 to HKEX:1000 ). | Set box text position (horizontal & vertical) and size , and color . | Set Box width (bars) (for non extended/ non-auto-terminating at price boxes). | toggle on/off Extend boxes/lines right . | Toggle on/off Shrink Grade sweeps on fill (they will disappear in realtime when filled/passed through)
4. FVGs:
•Fair Value gaps. Represent 'naked' candle bodies where the wicks to either side do not meet, forming a 'gap' of sorts which has a tendency to fill, or at least to fill to midline (CE).
•These are ICT concepts. 'UP' FVGS are known as BISIs (Buyside imbalance, sellside inefficiency); 'DOWN' FVGs are known as SIBIs (Sellside imbalance, buyside inefficiency).
• USER INPUTS: overall setting: show FVGs | Bars lookback (history). | Choose to display: 'UP' FVGs (BISI) and/or 'DOWN FVGs (SIBI) . Choose to display the midline: CE , the color and the line style . Choose threshold: use CE (as opposed to Full Fill) |toggle on/off Shrink FVG on fill (CE hit or Full fill) (declutter chart/see backtesting history)
////••Alerts (general notes & cautionary notes)::
•Alerts are optional for most of the levels printed by this indicator. Set them via the three dots on indicator status line.
•Due to dynamic repainting of levels, alerts should be used with caution. Best use these alerts either for Higher time frame levels, or when closely monitoring price.
--E.g. You may set an alert for down-fill of the latest FVG below; but price will keep marching up; form a newer/higher FVG, and the alert will trigger on THAT FVG being down-filled (not the original)
•Available Alerts:
-FVG(BISI) cross above threshold(CE or full-fill; user choice). Same with FVG(SIBI).
-HTF last CHoCH down, cross below | HTF last CHoCH up, cross above.
-last CHoCH down, cross below | last CHoCH up, cross above.
-LTH cross above, MTH cross above, STH cross above | LTL cross below, MTL cross below, STL cross below.
////••Formatting (general)::
•all table text color is set from the 'Pivot highs & Lows (ST, MT, LT)' section (for those of you who prefer black backgrounds).
•User choice of Line-style, line color, line width. Same with Boxes. Icon choice for chochs. Char or label text choices for ST/MT/LT pivot highs & lows.
////••User Inputs (general):
•Each of the 4 components of this indicator can be easily toggled on/off independently.
•Quite a lot of options and toggle boxes, as described in full above. Please take your time and read through all the tooltips (hover over '!' icon) to get an idea of formatting options.
•Several Lookback periods defined in bars to control how much history is shown for each of the 4 components of this indicator.
•'Shrink on fill' settings on FVGs and CHoCHs: Basically a way to declutter chart; toggle on/off depending on if you're backtesting or reading live price action.
•Table Display: applies to ST/MT/LT pivot highs and to HTF CHoCHs; Toggle table on or off (in part or in full)
SMC sessionzz by JelleThe main function of this indicator is to make it easy to identify several smart money concepts (SMC) and ICT practices by using a single indicator. The functions themselves are not my original content, but rather a collection of several scripts with some tweaking, combined into a single indicator.
Main functions:
- Provides the ability to set bar color for London, New York and Asia sessions
- Provides the ability to set background color for London, New York and Asia sessions
- Provides the ability to indicate NY and GMT midnight on the chart by plotting vertical lines
- Provides several smart features to turn bar color and background color on/off depending on the timeframe
Usage example:
- Easily determine each session high and low by using the bar color feature
- Easily determine the daily high and low by using the vertical midnight lines
- Easily determine ICT kill zones by setting background color for each session
- Easily avoid clutter on your chart by using the timeframe filters
FVGs & CEs + Alerts: simple & efficient methodFair Value Gap indicator: Paints FVGs and their midlines (CEs). Stops painting when CE is hit, or when fully filled; user choice of threshold. This threshold is also used in the Alert conditions.
~~Plotted here on ES1! (CME), on the 15m timeframe~~
-A FVG represents a 'naked' body where the wicks/tails on either side do not meet. This can be seen as a type of 'gap', which price will have a tendency to want to re-fill (in part or in full).
-The midline (CE, or 'Consequent encroachment') of FVGs also tend to show price sensitivity.
-This indicator paints all FVGs until priced into, and should give an idea of which are more meaningful and which are best ignored (based on context: location, Time of day, market structure, etc).
-This is a simpler and more efficient method of painting Fair value gaps which auto-stop painting when price reaches them.
//Aims of Publishing:
-Education of ICT concepts of Fair Value Gaps and their midlines (CEs): To easily see via forward testing or backtesting, the sensitivity that price shows to these areas & levels.
-Demonstration of a much more efficient way of plotting FVGs which terminate at price, thanks to a modification of @Bjorgums's clever looping method referenced below.
//Settings:
-Toggle on/off upward and downward FVGs independently(blue and orange by default).
-Toggle on/off midline (CE).
-Standard color/line formatting options.
-Choose Threshold: CE of FVG or Full Fill of FVG: This will determine both the 'stop-painting' trigger and the 'Alert' trigger.
-Choose number of days lookback to control how many historical FVGs paint on chart.
//On alerts:
-Simple choice of 2 alerts:
~~One for price crossing into/above the nearest untouched 'premium' FVG above ( orange ). Trigger is user choice of CE or full fill.
~~Another for price crossing into/below the nearest untouched 'discount' FVG below (blue). Trigger is user choice of CE or full fill.
-Alerts set via the three dots in indicator status line.
//Cautionary notes:
-Do not use the alerts blindly to find trades. Wait until you have identified a good FVG above/below which you think price may show sensitivity to
-Usage on very low timeframes can cause unexpected results with alerts: due to new FVGs forming in realtime the Alert will always trigger at the most recent FVG above/ below having its threshold hit.
-Big thank you to @Bjorgum for his fantastic extendAndRemove method. Modified here for use with boxes and to integrate Alerts.
-Also Credit to ICT (inner circle trader) for the concepts used here: Fair value gaps and their Consequent Encroachment (CE).
Liquidity Candles with Prev Day High/Low and Midnight OpenAlright, let's talk about how to use this fancy indicator. But first, let me warn you, using indicators is like driving a car, you can't just press the gas pedal and hope for the best. You need to know what you're doing, or else you'll crash and burn faster than a soufflé in a microwave.
Now, let's get started. The first thing you need to do is understand what this indicator is telling you. Think of it like a signalman at a train station. He's waving flags and giving hand signals to tell you whether it's safe to proceed or if you need to stop and wait. This indicator works the same way.
It's going to give you signals based on price movements, telling you whether it's safe to buy or sell. But don't get too excited, my friend. You still need to use your brain and make smart decisions. Don't just blindly follow the signals, or else you'll end up like a sheep being led to the slaughter.
Now, let's talk about some of ICT's smart money trading concepts. First up, we have "liquidity grabs". This is when the big boys in the market create false breakouts to shake out the weak hands. They're like school bullies stealing lunch money from the little kids. But you can avoid being a victim by watching for signs of a liquidity grab, and using your brain to decide whether it's a real breakout or just a trap.
Next up, we have "stop runs". This is when the big players purposely trigger stop-loss orders to get a better entry or exit. It's like a game of chicken, but with your money on the line. To avoid being run over, keep an eye on your stop-loss orders, and don't be too predictable in your trading.
Finally, we have "market structure". This is like the blueprint of the market, showing you where the support and resistance levels are. It's like a treasure map to finding the best trades. But don't forget that market structure can change over time, so keep updating your map and stay ahead of the game.
So there you have it, my friend. A quick tutorial on using this indicator, with a side of ICT's smart money trading concepts. But remember, indicators are just tools, and you're the one driving the car. Use your brain, stay alert, and don't be a sheep. Happy trading!
Session LiquidityThe “Session Liquidity” TradingView indicator by Infinity Trading creates dynamic horizontal lines at the high and low points of a specified time span within the trading day. This indicator gives the user control of three separate time spans so the user can dynamically see the highs and lows of their favorite daily time spans.
Purpose
This indicator is similar to my TradingView indicator “Futures Exchange Sessions 3.0”. In that indicator the user gets control of dynamic price boxes. For me, these boxes made it difficult to spot ICT’s Orderblocks. So instead of boxes I made independently controllable lines and now I can spot ICT Orderblocks and easily identify Liquidity Pools.
Inputs and Style
Everything about the three dynamic lines can but independently configured. Start & End Times, Line Color, Line Style, Line Width, Text Characters, Text Size, Text Color can all be adjusted. The high and low lines as well as their text labels can be individually toggled on or off for maximum control.
Timezone
All of the start and end times are in EST. Additionally, each time span line needs a specific start of each day. This is controlled by a setting called “Line Start Day Timezone” where the user sets a timezone that corresponds with the start time. In general if a timespan resides within a particular Session pick the corresponding timezone. If the users line fits in the Asian Session then choose Asia/Shanghai. If the line is within the London Session then choose Europe/London. And the same goes for the New York Session.
Special Notes
If the Line Start Time is within one candle of the Start Day Timezone in the Settings, then the line/box won’t display. So choose the previous timezone
Lines only display when the timeframe is <= 30 minute
Index OverlayNote: use this indicator only with New York Timezone + you need to understand ICT concepts already, this indicator simplifies the chart work.
Also, in this script I added some open-source scripts from creators here on tradingview, but I forgot to annotate their names...
If you recognize your script, please text me and I'll add your credits.
features
- displays Midnight and Sunday open lines
- day separation (from midnight)
- FVGs
- VWAP (calculated from midnight open)
- daily labels
- TDH & TDL (liquidity)
- trading time window (from 9:30 to 12:00 ny time)
HOW TO USE
Combined with daily bias, the idea is to wait for 9:30 to open, and then wait for a liquidation of TDH (plotted in blue) or TDL (in red).
Once it happens, you can look for ICT buy / sell model, ideally in the 5m TF.
OrderBlock Trend (CISD)OrderBlock Trend (CISD) Indicator
Overview:
The "OrderBlock Trend (CISD)" AKA: change in state of delivery by ICT inner circle trader this indicator is designed to help traders identify and visualize market trends based on higher timeframe candle behavior. This script leverages the concept of order blocks, which are price levels where significant buying or selling activity has occurred, to signal potential trend reversals or continuations. By analyzing bullish and bearish order blocks on a higher timeframe, the indicator provides visual cues and statistical insights into the market's current trend dynamics.
Key Features:
Higher Timeframe Analysis: The indicator uses a higher timeframe (e.g., Daily) to assess the trend direction based on the open and close prices of candles. This approach helps in identifying more significant and reliable trend changes, filtering out noise from lower timeframes.
Bullish and Bearish Order Blocks: The script detects the first bullish or bearish candle on the selected higher timeframe and uses these candles as reference points (order blocks) to determine the trend direction. A bullish trend is indicated when the current price is above the last bearish order block's open price, and a bearish trend is indicated when the price is below the last bullish order block's open price.
Visual Trend Indication: The indicator visually represents the trend using background colors and plot shapes:
A green background and a square shape above the bars indicate a bullish trend.
A red background and a square shape above the bars indicate a bearish trend.
Candle Count and Statistics: The script keeps track of the number of up and down candles during bullish and bearish trends, providing percentages of up and down candles in each trend. This data is displayed in a table, giving traders a quick overview of market sentiment during each trend phase.
User Customization: The higher timeframe can be adjusted according to the trader's preference, allowing flexibility in trend analysis based on different time horizons.
Concepts and Calculations:
The "OrderBlock Trend (CISD)" indicator is based on the concept of order blocks, a key area where institutional traders are believed to place large orders, creating significant support or resistance levels. By identifying these blocks on a higher timeframe, the indicator aims to highlight potential trend reversals or continuations. The use of higher timeframe data helps filter out minor fluctuations and focus on more meaningful price movements.
The candle count and percentage calculations provide additional context, allowing traders to understand the proportion of bullish or bearish candles within each trend. This information can be useful for assessing the strength and consistency of a trend.
How to Use:
Select the Higher Timeframe: Choose the higher timeframe (e.g., Daily) that best suits your trading strategy. The default setting is "D" (Daily), but it can be adjusted to other timeframes as needed.
Interpret the Trend Signals:
A green background indicates a bullish trend, while a red background indicates a bearish trend. The corresponding square shapes above the bars reinforce these signals.
Use the information on the proportion of up and down candles during each trend to gauge the trend's strength and consistency.
Trading Decisions: The indicator can be used in conjunction with other technical analysis tools and indicators to make informed trading decisions. It is particularly useful for identifying trend reversals and potential entry or exit points based on the behavior of higher timeframe order blocks.
Customization and Optimization: Experiment with different higher timeframes and settings to optimize the indicator for your specific trading style and preferences.
Conclusion:
The "OrderBlock Trend (CISD)" indicator offers a comprehensive approach to trend analysis, combining the power of higher timeframe order blocks with clear visual cues and statistical insights. By understanding the underlying concepts and utilizing the provided features, traders can enhance their trend detection and decision-making processes in the markets.
Disclaimer:
This indicator is intended for educational purposes and should be used in conjunction with other analysis methods. Always perform your own research and risk management before making trading decisions.
Some known bugs when you switch to lower timeframe while using daily timeframe data it didn't use the daily candle close to establish the trend change but your current time frame If some of you know how to fix it that would be great if you help me to I would try my best to fix this in the future :) credit to ChatGPT 4o
Futures Weekly Open RangeThe weekly opening range ( high to low ) is calculated from the open of the market on Sunday (1800 EST) till the opening of the Bond Market on Monday morning (0800 EST). This is the first and most crucial range for the trading week. As ICT has taught, price is moving through an algorithm and as such is fractal; because price is fractal, the opening range can be calculated and projected to help determine if price is trending or consolidating. As well; this indicator can be used to incorporate his PO3 concept to enter above the weekly opening range for shorts if bearish, or entering below the opening range for longs if bullish.
This indicator takes the high and low of weekly opening range, plots those two levels, plots the opening price for the new week, and calculates the Standard Deviations of the range and plots them both above and below of the weekly opening range. These are all plotted through the week until the start of the new week.
The range is calculated by subtracting the high from the low during the specified time.
The mid-point is half of that range added to the low.
The Standard deviation is multiples of the range (up to 10) added to the high and subtracted
from the low.
At this time the indicator will only plot the Standard deviation lines on the minutes time frame below 1 hour.
Only the range and range lines will be plotted on the hourly chart.
Relative Equal Highs/LowsThis Pine script indicator is designed to create a visual representation of the relative equal highs & lows formed and automatically removed mitigated ones. Unlike indicators designed to show exact equal high/lows this indicator allows a small, configurable degree of variance between price to identify areas where price stops.
Relevance:
Relative Equal highs and lows can serve as valuable tools in identifying potential shifts in trend direction. They come into play when the price hits a support or resistance level and can’t advance further, signaling a possible reversal or pivot point. When the price sufficiently retreats from these levels, relative equal highs and lows can also indicate liquidity draws where buy/sell stops might be positioned, in accordance with SMC/ICT concepts.
How It Works:
The indicator tracks all unmitigated highs & lows within the chart’s present timeframe, limited to the user-defined max bars lookback for optimal performance. If the prices are within the configured variance they are marked as relatively equal and at that point are visually identified by a horizontal line, which connects the two (or more) points of price. Depending on configuration of the indicator, a line is rendered from the 1st, last or both values within the relatively equal range of price. A unique feature of this indicator is its ability to remove the line once the price mitigates the relative equal high/low by falling below the lows or rising above highs. This ensures the chart remains uncluttered and highlights only the currently relevant levels, setting it apart from other indicators providing similar functionality.
Configurability:
The indicator offers five style settings for complete customization of the lines that represent equal highs/lows. These settings include line style, color, and width, along with an option to extend the lines to the right of the chart for enhanced visibility of equal high/low levels. To optimize performance, the indicator allows users to configure the lookback length, determining how far back the price history should be examined. In most instances, the default setting of 500 bars proves more than adequate. Additionally, you can set thresholds via separate configs for stocks & indices that will determine if the price is relatively equal and lastly allow you to configure where the indicator line should be drawn, the first, last or all the values.
Additional notes:
This uses a different approach then my “equal highs/lows” indicator to identify price levels and because it focuses specifically on relative as opposed to exact values it is entirely different and may show “weaker”, but still important levels of liquidity. This indicator is more suited for analysis of stocks and indices or higher-timeframes where price-action rarely forms exact equal values instead more frequently forming almost equal values. My other indicator is more suited for smaller (15m or less) timeframe on indices where exact equal prices are often identical. Depending on situation different indicators should be used.
Fair Value Gaps Setup 01 [TradingFinder] FVG Absorption + CHoCH🔵 Introduction
🟣 Market Structures
Market structures exhibit a fractal and nested nature, which leads us to classify them into internal (minor) and external (major) categories. Definitions of market structure vary, with different methodologies such as Smart Money and ICT offering distinct interpretations.
To identify market structure, the initial step involves examining key highs and lows. An uptrend is characterized by successive highs and lows that are higher than their predecessors. Conversely, a downtrend is marked by successive lows and highs that are lower than their previous counterparts.
🟣 Market Trends and Movements
Market trends consist of two primary types of movements :
Impulsive Movements : These movements align with the main trend and are characterized by high strength and momentum.
Corrective Movements : These movements counter the main trend and are marked by lower strength and momentum.
🟣 Break of Structure (BOS)
In a downtrend, a Break of Structure (BOS) occurs when the price falls below the previous low and establishes a new low (LL). In an uptrend, a BOS, also known as a Market Structure Break (MSB), happens when the price rises above the last high.
To confirm a trend, at least one BOS is necessary, which requires the price to close at least one candle beyond the previous high or low.
🟣 Change of Character (CHOCH)
Change of Character (CHOCH) is a crucial concept in market structure analysis, indicating a shift in trend. A trend concludes with a CHOCH, also referred to as a Market Structure Shift (MSS).
For example, in a downtrend, the price continues to drop with BOS, showcasing the trend's strength. However, when the price rises and exceeds the last high, a CHOCH occurs, signaling a potential transition from a downtrend to an uptrend.
It is essential to note that a CHOCH does not immediately indicate a buy trade. Instead, it is prudent to wait for a BOS in the upward direction to confirm the uptrend. Unlike BOS, a CHOCH confirmation does not require a candle to close; merely breaking the previous high or low with the candle's wick is sufficient.
🟣 Spike | Inefficiency | Imbalance
All these terms mean fast price movement in the shortest possible time.
🟣 Fair Value Gap (FVG)
To pinpoint the "Fair Value Gap" (FVG) on a chart, a detailed candle-by-candle analysis is necessary. This process involves focusing on candles with substantial bodies and evaluating them in relation to the candles immediately before and after them.
Here are the steps :
Identify the Central Candle : Look for a candle with a large body.
Examine Adjacent Candles : The candles before and after this central candle should have long shadows, and their bodies must not overlap with the body of the central candle.
Determine the FVG Range : The distance between the shadows of the first and third candles defines the FVG range.
This method helps in accurately identifying the Fair Value Gap, which is crucial for understanding market inefficiencies and potential price movements.
🟣 Setup
This setup is based on Market Structure and FVG. After a change of character and the formation of FVG in the last lag of the price movement, we are looking for trading positions in the price pullback.
Bullish Setup :
Bearish Setup :
🔵 How to Use
After forming the setup, you can enter the trade using a pending order or after receiving confirmation. To increase the probability of success, you can adjust the pivot period market structure settings or modify the market movement coefficient in the formation leg of the FVG.
Bullish Setup :
Bearish Setup :
🔵 Setting
Pivot Period of Market Structure Detector :
This parameter allows you to configure the zigzag period based on pivots. Adjusting this helps in accurately detecting order blocks.
Show major Bullish ChoCh Lines :
You can toggle the visibility of the Demand Main Zone and "ChoCh" Origin, and customize their color as needed.
Show major Bearish ChoCh Lines :
Similar to the Demand Main Zone, you can control the visibility and color of the Supply Main Zone and "ChoCh" Origin.
FVG Detector Multiplier Factor :
This feature lets you adjust the size of the moves forming the Fair Value Gaps (FVGs) using the Average True Range (ATR). The default value is 1, suitable for identifying most setups. Adjust this value based on the specific symbol and market for optimal results.
FVG Validity Period :
This parameter defines the validity period of an FVG in terms of the number of candles. By default, an FVG remains valid for up to 15 candles, but you can adjust this period as needed.
Mitigation Level FVG :
This setting establishes the basic level of an FVG. When the price reaches this level, the FVG is considered mitigated.
Level in Low-Risk Zone :
This feature aims to reduce risk by dividing the FVG into two equal areas: "Premium" (upper area) and "Discount" (lower area). For lower risk, ensure that "Demand FVG" is in the "Discount" area and "Supply FVG" in the "Premium" area. This feature is off by default.
Show or Hide :
Given the potential abundance of setups, displaying all on the chart can be overwhelming. By default, only the last setup is shown, but you can enable the option to view all setups.
Alert Settings :
On / Off : Toggle alerts on or off.
Message Frequency : Determine how often alerts are triggered.
Options include :
"All" (alerts every time the function is called)
"Once Per Bar" (alerts only on the first call within the bar)
"Once Per Bar Close" (alerts only at the last script execution of the real-time bar upon closing)
The default setting is "Once Per Bar".
Show Alert Time by Time Zone : Set the alert time based on your preferred time zone, such as "UTC-4" for New York time. The default is "UTC".
Display More Info : Optionally show additional details like the price range of the order blocks and the date, hour, and minute in the alert message. Set this to "Off" if you prefer not to receive this information.
Order Block Drawing [TradingFinder]🔵 Introduction
Perhaps one of the most challenging tasks for Pine script developers (especially beginners) is properly drawing order blocks. While utilizing the latest technical analysis methods for "Price Action," beginners heavily rely on accurately plotting "Supply" and "Demand" zones, following concepts like "Smart Money Concept" and "ICT".
However, drawing "Order Blocks" may pose a challenge for developers. Therefore, to minimize bugs, increase accuracy, and speed up the process of coding order blocks, we have released the "Order Block Drawing" library.
Below, you can read more details about how to use this library.
Important :
This library has direct and indirect outputs. The indirect output includes the ranges of order blocks plotted on the chart. However, the direct output is a "Boolean" value that becomes "true" only when the price touches an order block, colloquially termed as "Mitigate." You can use this output for setting up alerts.
🔵 How to Use
First, you can add the library to your code as shown in the example below.
import TFlab/OrderBlockDrawing_TradingFinder/1
🟣Parameters
OBDrawing(OBType, TriggerCondition, DistalPrice, ProximalPrice, Index, OBValidDis, Show, ColorZone) =>
Parameters:
• OBType (string)
• TriggerCondition (bool)
• DistalPrice (float)
• ProximalPrice (float)
• Index (int)
• OBValidDis (int)
• Show (bool)
• ColorZone (color)
OBType : All order blocks are summarized into two types: "Supply" and "Demand." You should input your order block type in this parameter. Enter "Demand" for drawing demand zones and "Supply" for drawing supply zones.
TriggerCondition : Input the condition under which you want the order block to be drawn in this parameter.
DistalPrice : Generally, if each zone is formed by two lines, the farthest line from the price is termed "Distal." This input receives the price of the "Distal" line.
ProximalPrice : Generally, if each zone is formed by two lines, the nearest line to the price is termed "Proximal" line.
Index : This input receives the value of the "bar_index" at the beginning of the order block. You should store the "bar_index" value at the occurrence of the condition for the order block to be drawn and input it here.
OBValidDis : Order blocks continue to be drawn until a new order block is drawn or the order block is "Mitigate." You can specify how many candles after their initiation order blocks should continue. If you want no limitation, enter the number 4998.
Show : You may need to manage whether to display or hide order blocks. When this input is "On", order blocks are displayed, and when it's "Off", order blocks are not displayed.
ColorZone : You can input your preferred color for drawing order blocks.
🔵 Function Outputs
This function has only one output. This output is of type "Boolean" and becomes "true" only when the price touches an order block. Each order block can be touched only once and then loses its validity. You can use this output for alerts.
= Drawing.OBDrawing('Demand', Condition, Distal, Proximal, Index, 4998, true, Color)
MTF OB Supply Demand ZonesHello everyone,
This exceptional indicator provides you with visual representations of bullish and bearish order blocks or supply and demand zones across multiple timeframes. In simple terms, bullish order blocks are represented by a small red candle followed by a large red candle, while bearish order blocks are depicted as a small green candle followed by a large red candle. Supply and demand zones are drawn by using order blocks.
Features:
Display order blocks from up to three different timeframes.
Customize the maximum number of boxes shown and the colors of the zones.
Choose from three different modes: OB (Order Block), Extended OB, and Supply/Demand.
Mode Descriptions:
OB: Includes the body of the candle.
Extended OB: Encompasses the body and wick of the candle.
Supply/Demand: Covers the body, wick, and half the body of the large candle.
Usage:
Ensure that charts 2 and 3 are set to a higher timeframe. For modes 2 and 3, it’s recommended to reduce the maximum number of boxes shown. The zones or boxes are transparent, allowing for overlap. This feature aids in identifying reversal zones or confirmed zones. The more intense the color, the stronger the confirmation. If a green zone overlaps a red zone (or vice versa), it signifies a reversal zone.
Thank you for checking out this indicator!
Additional Information:
Order blocks refer to specific price areas where large market participants, such as institutional traders, have previously placed significant buy or sell orders. These clusters of orders can impact price movement, liquidity, and market sentiment.
Order blocks are a strategic approach to identifying key levels of support and resistance based on the behavior of institutional traders. These key levels are then utilized as entry or exit points for trades.
An order block is an area where there has been a large concentration of limit orders awaiting execution. These blocks are identified on a chart by observing previous price action and pinpointing areas where the price experienced significant movement or abrupt changes in direction.
Order blocks are used in the following popular trading philosophies:
Smart Money Concepts (SMC)
Inner Circle Trading (ICT)
Liquidity Finder🔵 Introduction
The concept of "liquidity pool" or simply "liquidity" in technical analysis price action refers to areas on the price chart where stop losses accumulate, and the market, by reaching those areas and collecting liquidity (Stop Hunt), provides the necessary energy to move the price. This concept is prominent in the "ICT" and "Smart Money" styles. Imagine, as depicted below, the price is at a support level. The general trader mentality is that there is "demand" for the asset at this price level, and this demand will outweigh "supply" as before. So, it is likely that the price will increase. As a result, they start buying and place their stop loss below the support area.
Stop Hunt areas are essentially traders' "stop loss" levels. These are the liquidity that institutional and large traders need to fill their orders. Consequently, they penetrate the price below support areas or above resistance areas to touch their stop loss and fill their orders, and then the price trend reverses.
Cash zones are generally located under "Swings Low" and above "Swings High." More specifically, they can be categorized as support levels or resistance levels, above Double Top and Triple Top patterns, below Double Bottom and Triple Bottom patterns, above Bearish Trend lines, and below Bullish Trend lines.
Double Top and Triple Top :
Double Bottom and Triple Bottom :
Bullish Trend line and Bearish Trend line :
🔵 How to Use
To optimally use this indicator, you can adjust the settings according to the symbol, time frame, and your needs. These settings include the "sensitivity" of the "liquidity finder" function and the swing periods related to static and dynamic liquidity lines.
"Statics Liquidity Line Sensitivity" is a number between 0 and 0.4. Increasing this number decreases the sensitivity of the "Statics Liquidity Line Detection" function and increases the number of lines identified. The default value is 0.3.
"Dynamics Liquidity Line Sensitivity" is a number between 0.4 and 1.95. Increasing this number increases the sensitivity of the "Dynamics Liquidity Line Detection" function and decreases the number of lines identified. The default value is 1.
"Statics Period Pivot" is set to 8 by default. By changing this number, you can specify the period for the static liquidity line pivots.
"Dynamics Period Pivot" is set to 3 by default. By changing this number, you can specify the period for the dynamic liquidity line pivots.
🔵 Settings
Access to adjust the inputs of Static Dynamic Liquidity Line Sensitivity, Dynamics Liquidity Line Sensitivity, Statics Period Pivot, and Dynamics Period Pivot is possible from this section.
Additionally, you can enable or disable liquidity lines as needed using the buttons for "Show Statics High Liquidity Line," "Show Statics Low Liquidity Line," "Show Dynamics High Liquidity Line," and "Show Dynamics Low Liquidity Line."
Inversion Fair Value Gaps (IFVG) [LuxAlgo]The Inversion Fair Value Gaps (IFVG) indicator is based on the inversion FVG concept by ICT and provides support and resistance zones based on mitigated Fair Value Gaps (FVGs).
🔶 USAGE
Once mitigation of an FVG occurs, we detect the zone as an "Inverted FVG". This would now be looked upon for potential support or resistance.
Mitigation occurs when the price closes above or below the FVG area in the opposite direction of its bias.
Inverted Bullish FVGs Turn into Potential Zones of Resistance.
Inverted Bearish FVGs Turn into Potential Zones of Support.
After the FVG has been mitigated, returning an inversion FVG, a signal is displayed each time the price retests an IFVG zone and breaks below or above (depending on the direction of the FVG).
Keep in mind how IFVGs are calculated and displayed. Once price mitigates an IFVG, all associated graphical elements such as areas, lines, and signals will be deleted.
This indicator is not meant to be just a 'signal indicator'. Backtesting historical signals is incorrect as it does not consider the mitigation of IFVGs, which is a standard method for trading IFVGs & various concepts by ICT.
The signals displayed are meant for real-time analysis of current bars for discretionary analysis. Current confirmed retests of unmitigated IFVGs are still displayed to show which IFVGS have had significant reactions.
🔶 SETTINGS
Show Last: Specifies the number of most recent FVG Inversions to display in Bullish/Bearish pairs, starting at the current and looking back. Max 100 Pairs.
Signal Preference: Allows the user to choose to send signals based on the (Wicks) or (Close) Prices. This can be changed based on user preference.
ATR Multiplier: Filters FVGs based on ATR Width, The script will only detect Inversions that are greater than the ATR * ATR Width.
🔶 ALERTS
This script includes alert options for all signals.
🔹 Bearish Signal
A bearish signal occurs when the price returns to a bearish inversion zone and rejects to the downside.
🔹 Bullish Signal
A bullish signal occurs when the price returns to a bullish inversion zone and bounces out of the top.
ICT (Inner Circle Traders) teaches, that those range deviations of asia,cbdr,flout can be used to find the daily high/low.
TCM (The Currency Merchant) teaches, that a move out of the range often is a false move to trap traders into the wrong direction.
TGIF StatsTGIF - "Thank God it's Friday"
After a heavily bearish week (tuesday, wednesday and thursday) price sometimes looks for some retracement on fridays. Vice versa for bullish weeks.
This script shows how often that specific scenario happens and displays that data in a table.
The user has the option to input a starting year for the statistic and is able to filter between bearish or bullish weeks.
*disclaimer : if paired with a higher timeframe pd array taught by ICT the stats should be better, that's not included in the code though*
FVG Sessions [LuxAlgo]The FVG Sessions indicator highlights the first fair value gap of the trading session as well as the session range. Detected fair value gaps extend to the end of the trading session.
Alerts are included on the formation of a session fair value gap, price being within a session fair value gap, mitigations, and price crossing session fair value gaps average.
🔶 USAGE
Trader ICT states that the first fair value gap of the trading session can attract the most significant reaction. Having only one FVG per session allows users to further focus on that precise imbalance as well as external elements.
The mitigation of a fair value gap is clearly indicated on the chart with a more transparent color allowing users to see inverse FVGs.
Extending the fair value gaps allows the imbalance area to provide potential support and resistance.
Do note that this script should be used on intraday charts.
🔶 ALERTS
The script includes the following alerts:
🔹 Bullish/Bearish FVG
Alerts on the formation of the first bullish or bearish FVG of the session.
🔹 Bullish/Bearish FVG Mitigation
Alerts when the first bullish or bearish FVG of the session is mitigated.
🔹 Price Within FVG
Alerts when price is within the first bullish or bearish FVG area of the session.
🔹 Price Cross FVG Average
Alerts when price cross the average level of the first bullish or bearish FVG of the session.
Breaker Blocks with Signals [LuxAlgo]The Breaker Blocks with Signals indicator aims to highlight a complete methodology based on breaker blocks. Breakout signals between the price and breaker blocks are highlighted and premium/discount swing levels are included to provide potential take profit/stop loss levels.
This script also includes alerts for each signal highlighted.
🔶 SETTINGS
🔹 Breaker Blocks
Length: Sensitivity of the detected swings used to construct breaker blocks. Higher values will return longer term breaker blocks.
Use only candle body: Only use the candle body when determining the maximum/minimum extremities of the order blocks.
Use 2 candles instead of 1: Use two candles to confirm the occurrence of a breaker block.
Stop at first break of center line: Do not highlight breakout signals after invalidation until reset.
🔹 PD Array
Only when E is in premium/discount zone: Only set breaker block if point E of wave ABCDE is within the corresponding zone.
Show premium discount zone: Show premium/discount zone.
Highlight Swing Break: Highlight occurrences of price breaking a previous swing level.
Show Swings/PD Arrays: Show swing levels/labels and pd areas.
🔶 USAGE
The Breaker Blocks with Signals indicator aims to provide users with a minimalistic display alongside optimal signals to be aware of for finding trade setups as shown below.
Here we can see a MSS occurred allowing the indicator to detect a Breaker Block (-BB) & display a red arrow to confirm this signal.
The signal(s) that can be used for potential entries are only during retests of the breaker blocks.
A potential strategy traders could use with this indicator is to target the corresponding Discount PD Arrays detected (for a short position) and Premium PD Arrays (for a long position).
In the image above we can see price generated the potential entry signals in orange & fell to the Discount PD Arrays as a logical setup to look for with this indicator.
As we can see in the image above, signals can be considered invalid when price closes above the 50% level in which it would be suggested to wait for another setup.
Users still looking for more potential setups based on the same breaker block can disable the "Stop at first break of center line" setting within the settings menu.
In the image above we can see a bullish example whereas price confirmed a bullish breaker block (+BB), had a quick pullback into it that was confirmed by the green arrow, and then reached the Premium PD Arrays.
While retests of breaker blocks can still function well if they occur later in the price action, it's most preferable for users to look for entry signals that are near confirmed breaker blocks (5-10 bars) opposed to waiting 20+ bars.
Additional take profits based on the occurence of the breaker blocks are given in order to provide targets after the occurence of a breaker block breakout.
🔶 DETAILS
Breaker blocks are formed after a mitigated order block, these can provide change of polarity opportunities, thus playing a role as a potential support/resistance. It is the re-test/retrace of price to a breaker block that will set the conditions to provide signals.
The above chart describes the creation of a breaker block.
The signal generation logic makes use of various rules described below:
Bullish Breaker Blocks:
opening price is within the breaker block, while the closing price is above the upper extremity of the breaker block.
Price did not cross the breaker block average in the interval since the previous breakout.
Bearish Breaker Blocks:
opening price is within the breaker block, while the closing price is below the lower extremity of the breaker block.
Price did not cross the breaker block average in the interval since the previous breakout.
When a new pattern is formed, all previous drawings are removed.
