SO what is it?
In the last 30 year we have only been below the 20 month moving avg. for more than 3 consecutive months 3 times(Monthly open and Monthly Close)
A few things are apparent if you look at history, we have clearly been building to a mega bubble when you consider the lifetime of the S&P 500 . We slowly climbed out of the depression and as you can see that was a healthy growth to get back on track.
BUT look at 2009 and on coming out of the last recession. You can tell the result of numerous components in the last 12 years that are likely the most detrimental the main being Quantitative easing....
If you don't think the tapering is going to be bad then maybe look again at the chart.......
Up until the 90's we had normal ups and downs in the markets, honestly that's what a healthy market looks like( for the most part) . Trends, fads, industries, etc. come and go evolve and go through changes but not like the chaotic only up mindset of today which likely will not sustain......
